Like last year, in which the focus of the year was reading the Bible, the discipleship focus for 2025 is prayer. For this year please join me in praying daily at 4:19pm for our surrounding area. Using our church address 4533 Co Rd 11 as a reminder of how to pray we pray for our area for 45 and 33 seconds.
Pray for 45 seconds for the lost and the far. That would be people you know, your family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers, who don’t know Jesus as their savior or who are far from God, not attending church or growing in their walk with God. Make a note on your phone or somewhere to have with you of their first and last names and take a few seconds praying aloud for each person specifically for 45 seconds total. Afterwards pray aloud the 33 second prayer for Zion Church of Wauseon.
To help myself pray 4533 for the 419 area I have set an alarm on my phone to set at 4:19pm everyday and when my alarm goes I open up my notes app and I read aloud what I have written there. “God I pray for these individuals that they will all know you as their Lord and Savior and surrender to your Lordship” followed by a List of names that I read aloud everyday.
2025 Prayer of the Year:
Heavenly Father, I praise you that your steadfast love endures forever and that you are always with me. I pray now for Zion Church of Wauseon. I pray that you, Holy Spirit, will move in power through my church and help us to make new disciples of Jesus Christ. Help us to share the Good news in word and deed. Please protect and bless our church family and allow us to experience your love, mercy and grace. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
This year going forward on Sunday’s we’re going to be asking you short questions about your prayer life to remind and encourage you as you pick up this new habit. We will never judge, that’s not the point of this but rather by emphasizing it every week it’s my prayer that you will begin to pray everyday for those who don’t know God or have become far from him and for your church. 45 seconds for the Lost and Far and 33 Seconds for our church using the 2025 Church Prayer of the Year.
I recommend that you have a prayer list outside of this time that you pray everyday as well. You can use the weekly prayer chain update as a guide for this prayer list as well as including a section for people you want to pray for and the well-being of yourself and your family.
