The stipulations to be a part of the new covenant as John stated in John 1:13 are to receive Jesus Christ and believe in his name and then we receive everything else free. This new covenant is the grace that John is talking about in John 1:16. By God’s grace if you receive him you will have a change in your identity. If you believe in Jesus’ name you are pardoned of our sins, adopted into God’s family, made a citizen of his eternal kingdom, and given a new title of saint rather than sinner. You are given a new and better identity from God as an act of grace.
Through the new covenant God pardoned our debt for our sins, made us his children, transferred our citizenship forever and bestowed on us a new title of saint, someone who is holy and set apart for him. Pardoned, adopted, citizens, and (new) title, you can remember this change in your identity with the word PACT. We are Pardoned of our sins, we are Adopted into God’s family, we are made Citizens in his eternal kingdom, and we are given a new Title, saint. This is the good news of Jesus Christ.
Freely he gave of his life to make the new covenant and freely you can receive everything he has for you if you receive him.
If you want to receive him, believe in his name and pray this prayer in your heart and then declare with your mouth “Jesus is Lord.”
God, I thank you that you Jesus became a man and lived and then died on a cross for my sake. Thank you for making a new covenant by the shedding of your blood on the cross.
I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead and he defeated death and the grave.
I choose to receive you today and to believe in your name, believing all that you did as described in the gospels.
God I declare today that Jesus is my LORD and put my faith in him. I know that I was a sinner deserving of wrath but because of my faith in Jesus now I am pardoned of my sin, adopted into your family, made a citizen in your eternal kingdom and given a new title, saint.
I believe this with all my heart. Thank you God for saving me, come and live within me Holy Spirit God.
In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
