John 20:30-21:25, Jeremiah 29:11
Redemption Given

We live in a world of possibilities. You can in theory do anything in your life and be anyone, but as we grow older the idea of clinging to a dream of there being some great goal to accomplish in your life seems more and more difficult. However, that need not be the truth entirely because we serve The LORD almighty. God has made each and every one of us and He knows the number of days of our life and He has a plan and purposes for us to do in the span of time between the day of our birth and the day of our death.

Jeremiah 29:11 reads  For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

God has plans to prosper us and to give us hope and a future. The future is found in our eternal life with Christ but until then we rely on Him for his provision and protection.

But there are times when we all get off track, when we turn away from all of God’s fullness. Peter had followed Jesus for years leaving behind his business as a fisherman to become a fisher of men as Jesus’ disciple but on the night Jesus was betrayed, he sinned and denied knowing Jesus 3 times. Peter was off trail and had lost his way, going fishing again but he wasn’t successful, God wasn’t helping him to prosper in fishing without Him. Later in John 21:15-19 Jesus gives him three opportunities to accept Him and claim Him and Peter does not fall into sin again. Jesus through his words forgave Peter without saying it and gave him a reminder of his purpose.

This week consider your own life. Has there ever been a time when you have fallen short in any way shape or form? Has there been a time you have turned sinned against the Lord? I know there has been for me, and there likely has been for you too but here's the good news,  Jesus will forgive you and He will redeem even your greatest failure if you let him. If you go to Him, confess your sins and allow Him to minister to you Jesus will forgive you and redeem you, like he forgave and redeemed Peter and with Him you can do amazing things.

If there has been anything that you have done that has taken you off track then take time to meet with Jesus and allow him to redeem you again.

Have a blessed week and join us in praying 4533 for the 419 and reading 2 Samuel 1-12, Luke 13-16, Psalm 121-126, and Proverbs 22 for our church Bible reading plan.
