This week we looked at the familiar passage of John 3:1-21.
Jesus' first teaching in John is a message of the Gospel shared to Nicodemus. We looked at the importance of being born again or looking up at Jesus or walking in the light or believing in the Jesus, all of which mean the same thing.
God we thank you for the illustrations that Jesus used to teach the gospel. We thank you for sending your one and only son to save the world. We look up at you Jesus lifted up on the cross and put our faith in you.
Thank you that you were lifted up to give us salvation and that you died for us. Jesus we put our faith in you and trust in you not in anything else. We surrender the deeds that we did in the dark and we reveal them to you, forgive us of our sins and fill us with the Holy Spirit.
Thank you God that by putting our faith in you you have caused us to be born again from above. Thank you when we were born again that you pardoned us of our sins, adopted us into your family, made us citizens in your eternal kingdom, and gave us a new title, saint, as holy set apart people for you God. Holy Spirit God help us to follow you in the light all of our life.
In Jesus name we pray, amen
