Jesus is God's Son and We Are To Believe in Him

Read John 8:12-30

God has been reaching out to us and calling us to follow him more closely. I believe that we all, until we go and sit before the throne of Judgment, have ways that we can draw closer to God. There are ways we can know him deeper, ways we can trust him more, and ways that we can be more obedient to him. The challenge of the Christian life is to actively search out those ways to deepen our relationship with him to build up the kingdom of God and to save sinners.

Jesus in John 8:12-20 claims God the Father sent him and that the Father’s testimony taken with Jesus’ testimony together makes Jesus’ testimony true. As Christians we believe that Jesus is one of the three persons of God. God is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit who all are 100% God but are not 100% each other. The Trinity is a divine mystery that we are instructed to believe by faith. When Jesus speaks in the Bible, as people who believe in him, we must take this instruction for what it is, words from the creator of the universe and listen with the intention to have your beliefs, values, and actions changed by what he says.

After teaching about his identity again Jesus teaches the gospel in John 8:21-30. His words convinced many to believe in him. Jesus instructs us that we need to believe in him and believing in God includes being obedient to him. There are many important instructions but one of the most remembered in Matthew 28:19-20, the Great Commision. Jesus instructs us ot be obedient by making disciples, by being baptized in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit, and by learning to obey everything he's commanded us to do.  God is with us Jesus promises that he will surely be with us to the very end of the age and with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives within us we should live our lives as the Bible instructs to.
